  • University of Washington Campus - The UW Campus is large, poorly signed and difficult to navigate. It is a good idea to review the maps provided in this Guide Section prior to the Festival. >> Interactive Campus Map
  • Registration and Information - Registration and Information - The registration desk is located in room 250 on the second floor of the HUB.  It will be open from 12pm to 5pm on Friday and Saturday and from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday.  Before taking any class, you must obtain a class name badge at the registration desk.  If you have pre-puchased a festival pass, a class pass or individual classes, a festival packet containing your class name badge and festival information will be available to you at the registration desk.  If you have any questions or need festival information, it is always best to first go to the registration room.

If you wish to take any individual class you must first register at the registration desk. If you want to attend any individual milonga you may pay at the door. If you have purchased a milonga pass, you must have it with you at each milonga you attend to gain entrance.  If you pre-purchased a Grand Ball or Salmon Bake ticket, have it with you at these events to gain entrance. A milonga pass is good for entrance to both the Grand Ball and Salmon Bake.
  • Festival Passes This year we are offering 2 types of Festival Passes. The “Festival Pass Grande” includes all events and classes Thursday through Monday”. “The Festival Pass Chico” is good for all events and classes on Fri, Sat, and Sun but does not include any of the classes or milongas on Thursday and Monday. You are welcome to attend any of the events on Thursday or Monday but you will have to pay at the door for these events.

If you attend these milongas you will have to pay at the door. If you have only purchased a Milonga Pass you do not need to go to the registration desk. You may receive it at the admissions desk at the Fri night milonga.
  • Class Pass - The “Class Pass” includes 6 classes, 2 each day, on Fri, Sat and Sun. It does not include the Thursday or Monday classes at China Harbor. If you want to attend these classes you will have to pay at the door.

Parking Guide

There is ample parking on the UW Campus.  Parking is not a part of the UW Housing packages. Monday through Friday the cost is $15.00/day and $5.00 afteer 5pm.  On Friday night after 9pm parking is free.  On Saturday after 12pm and all day Sunday, parking is free.  The UW Campus is very large and there are many parking areas.  Our events are at the Student Union Building, the HUB, and we would suggest that Festival attendees park either in the Padelford Parking Garage (N16, N18, N20, N21) or the N4 or N6 parking areas. Use this link for a map of the parking areas:   >> UW Parking. Street parking is readily avalable at our other venues.

Housing Guide

We will once again be offering housing at the UW Dorms. The dorm rooms this year are located 1 block from the main campus and each room has a private bath. Hotels are quite espensive in Seattle in July so the Dorms offer an excellent alternative. Reservations for the Dorms will be handled by the UW Conference Services. Go to the Housing page of the website for more information and the link for reservations. The housing page also has information on local hotels and other options for housing including a Housing Blog for those attendees that wish to stay with local tangeros.

Dining Guide

"8 at McMahons" located in the basement of McMahon Hall serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Husky Den in the basement of the HUB has a food circus and will be open on Friday. There are many restaurants located in the Universtity District, within easy walking distance from the UW Campus. Again, we don't have any specific recomendations as to which restaurants are good chioces. Use these links for locations and reviews of nearby restaurants:
